Oh, yes, becoming a soft place to land absolutely bears fruit. Our oldest is 14, and it’s taken me this long to parent (mostly) consistently this place. Confession helps, too! The fruit is in the day-to-day trust built. We still mess up a lot, but we’re quicker to extend mercy and get on with the day together.
