Why Create a Substack Newsletter, Catherine?

I took a month off from social media. In that month, I decided to use that time to focus on long(er) form writing during the fringe hours. I started a Substack newsletter where I'll share my writing with anyone wanting to read it!

A blurb from my first note: "I’m reclaiming my identity as a writer that I claimed all of those years ago at my childhood bedroom desk with the electric typewriter. I’m remembering that little girl with big ideas and stories to tell. I’m honoring her need to get it all down because I’m still that girl. My audience in childhood was a room full of dolls and stuffed animals. I don’t know who will read what I put out here, but that’s beside the point. I’m writing for third grade Catherine on 105th Street."

I'll be focusing my creative energies on my Substack writing instead of social media or my former podcast (While You Were Folding). I look forward to building the community of old school blogging and creating a space for nuance about the things that make me tick. Hope I'll see you around!
